THE VELOCITY BAR & tre chocolates: our story

Tre Chocolates & the Velocity Bar were born out of an obsession for chocolate.  Shanna Bruschi, a self-declared chocoholic and health-nut, a long distance runner always studying ways to optimize her energy levels for athletic performance as well as general well-being, discovered the most incredible kind of chocolate when visiting the town of Modica in Sicily.  It was unique in its process, raw and healthier, and more delicious than most chocolates found in the States. She spent the next few years, while living in Italy, hunting down all flavors & variations of this chocolate.  Upon returning home, in addition to co-owning Italian restaurants in San Francisco, Shanna continued her search for Cioccolato di Modica.  Desperate to satisfy her Sicilian chocolate craving, she decided to take it upon herself to try and recreate it.  After much experimenting with the cold-working process, playing with flavors, eliminating emulsifiers and adding healthy ingredients, she developed her modern twist on this ancient Sicilian recipe and called it "TRE Chocolates".  

While making "TRE Chocolates" in her kitchen, Shanna continued listening to the newest studies on health and protein intake, and how fundamentally important it is to maximize one's protein, especially for women.  She was struck by what a difference it makes as far as increasing energy, boosting your immune system, lean muscle growth & repair, and increasing satiety. She worked on developing a new recipe for a chocolate bar that was not only healthy but also had extra protein in it.  It was unlike any others on the market, not a traditional "protein bar" but one that tasted just like the most decadent velvety chocolates you could find.  She sourced the highest quality, organic ingredients possible (without any of the BS additives other chocolate manufacturers add to their bars) and added in other ingredients to each bar that bring in even more health benefits, such as wild blueberries, raw roasted hazelnuts, and functional mushrooms to name a few.  Thus "THE VELOCiTY BAR" was born, created for athletes, enjoyed by everyone....!
